Team Sidas-Matryx - A breath of professionalism in trail running
Team Sidas-Matryx 's presentation evening for the 2024 season was held in Annecy on Wednesday March 20.
The French team, which has been in existence for six years now, has been a pioneer in providing a professional and human structure in the French trail landscape.
PRESENTATION
Team Sidas-Matryx 2024 consists of :
-Laure Paradan, French Long Trail Champion in 2022
-Lucille Germain, World Short Trail Team Champion - 3rd at the French Short Trail Championships
-Anthony Felber, 3rd in the Marathon Race 2023 in Annecy - 7th in the OCC (UTMB)
-Clovis Chaverot, 2nd at Wildstrubel 2023, 2nd at OCC (UTMB)
-Simon Paccard, winner of the MCC (UTMB)
- Benjamin Roubiol, Trail Long World Champion and Trail Long French Vice Champion
- Benoît Girondel, two-time winner of the Diagonale des Fous (pictured here)

STAFF AND TRAINING
For the 2024 season, the structure is becoming more professional by integrating a brand-new staff to take care of the athletes, including a sports doctor, a nutritionist, a physical trainer, three coaches, physiotherapists, and a person in charge of performance monitoring... This professionalism is inspired by the way in which the biggest cycling teams operate, and aims to give traileurs as many tools as possible with which to develop.
The team's ambition is not only to be the best in trail running, but also to train the talents of tomorrow. That's why they've launched the Sidas-Matryx Academy (made up of six young athletes), to transform promising athletes into elite performers, and feed their premier team.

THE CONTINUATION
The team's athletes have come through the winter well-prepared, with most of them training in a mix of road racing (to develop speed), cross-country and ski-mountaineering... They went on a training camp at the end of March to carry out physiological tests and final key training sessions.
They are due to take part in the French Trail Championships in Buis-les-Baronnies on April 07, with the aim of qualifying for the European Trail Championships in Annecy, at home, at the end of May. For the rest of the season, most of our athletes will be competing in the Mont Blanc Marathon, the UTMB and the Festival des Templiers.
In conclusion, Team Sidas-Matryx is an incredible human adventure and a team that does everything it can to perform. With a smile, they show us that pleasure and performance don't have to be mutually exclusive. We thank them for their invitation, and wish them good luck for the 2024 season!
